The Georgetown University Memory Disorders Program (MDP) is primarily a research-focused program dedicated to advancing the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and related cognitive disorders. Our team conducts research studies and clinical trials evaluating new approaches and therapies designed to prevent, delay, or slow cognitive decline in individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), Alzheimer’s disease, and related conditions.

The MDP offers several pathways for individuals seeking clinical evaluation or consultation, including partnering with Medstar Georgetown University Neurology providers.

Nurse Practitioner Clinic
Our Nurse Practitioner clinic provides clinical evaluation for individuals who may be eligible for and are interested in research opportunities through the Memory Disorders Program. This pathway allows our team to better understand an individual’s cognitive concerns, clinical needs, and potential eligibility for ongoing or future research studies.

Consultation and Second-Opinion Clinic
For individuals seeking a one-time consultation or second opinion related to a diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, or another memory disorder, our Director and team of fellows provide specialized consultation appointments.

Because the Memory Disorders Program is primarily a research program, pathway is based on the type of evaluation, research opportunity, or clinical service being requested.
